"Urban Magnets: Kinetic Canvases for Communal Urbanism" is an incisive design intervention that metamorphoses static cityscapes into a, interactive tapestries. Marrying the whimsy of fridge magnet poetry with the gravitas of urban planning, the project transforms metallic urban surfaces into participatory forums




Chapter 01: NYC and Oversized Fridge Magnets



Deployed across New York City's diverse neighborhoods, the inaugural series, "Do You See Me 2?", serves as both query and catalyst, provoking community members to engage with the city’s invisible social, cultural, and infrastructural layers. Urban Magnets serves as a platform for collective imagination. Through magnetized placards, the project invites city dwellers to merge their individual urban experiences and dreams into a cohesive narrative. It fosters a deep awareness and deliberate care for the city, promoting a synergistic network of nature, people, spaces, and systems.”

Chapter 02: The Underground

"Urban Magnets" not only beautifies urban spaces but also serves as a powerful tool for civic engagement and social activism. It turns every metallic surface into a potential forum for public expression and debate, engaging a diverse range of participants in shaping the future of their community. Through this project, the city becomes a living canvas, constantly evolving as its residents interact, react, and dream together.

Chapter 03: Collective Poetry - Domino Park

The initiative does not shy away from the rough edges of urban living. Instead, it embraces them, highlighting and discussing complex issues such as gentrification, economic disparity, and cultural identity through its installations. As these magnetized messages accumulate on city surfaces—from lampposts and bus stops to the sides of buildings—they create a vivid patchwork that reflects the community's collective thoughts and concerns.
